Receipts as a Material

Receipts are an everyday material, sometimes essential, sometimes immediately discarded. You might take one to track a discount or for financial records, yet more often than not, it ends up crumpled in the depths of a bag or pocket.

The paper itself retains traces of its past: the ghost of printed text, the format, subtle variations in texture, density, and sheerness make every page an unexpected canvas, encouraging creativity through its unpredictability.

With Scribble, I wanted to rethink the affordance of receipts — transforming them from fleeting waste into a meaningful, reusable material. By collecting and repurposing old receipts, I have created a unique recycled-paper Notes and Sketchbook

Each book comes with an additional 'Guide' card containing instructions on how to recycle your own receipts into paper.
